Why use a Tree Surgeon?
Lots of us get through winter and breathe a sigh of relief – and trees would do the same if they could! What with the changes in temperature, snow and ice, high winds and higher levels of rain, winter is tough even for trees. But when spring comes, it isn’t all clear skies and sunshine for the trees around our gardens.
As spring arrives, it is the perfect time to inspect your trees and shrubs for signs of damage caused over winter. Or have a local expert in tree surgery do it for you. The key is to look for signs of damage such as broken branches or cracks in the trunk. Depending on where and how much damage there is, a tree surgeon can make recommendations about what to do next.
For deciduous trees, this is the time when leaves start to appear and is also a good time to spot any areas where no leaves appear – this means the branches are dead. Often, it is best to have these dead or dying branches professionally removed as they can weaken the whole tree and lead to further problems.
This is also the time when pests and diseases start to show. Aphids, spider mites or other nasty little bugs can try to move into your tree, but you can easily remove them by blasting the tree with the garden hose. However if you think the problem is more serious or may be some kind of disease, contact us and have on our of Glasgow tree surgeon’s to take a look.
