When Do You Need Tree Surgery Services

There are many occasions when you may need our tree surgery services at your property…

To clear up storm damage

Unfortunately, high winds, gales and lashing rain can have a detrimental effect on trees. Branches can snap, crashing to the ground of branches can be partly severed so that they hang loosely.

Or worse, the whole tree could come down, causing a problem in your garden or highway etc. We provide a storm damage service in which branches and trees can be cut back and made safe again.

To trim hedges or plant new ones

A hedge is a great privacy screen for your property but, it needs to be kept in shape. Allowing a hedge of any kind to become too wild means it grows out of shape and become too straggly.

As well as annually trimming hedges, we can also plant new hedges to form a boundary for your property.

Remove old, dead or problem trees

Trees, no matter what species, are a fantastic addition to any garden. They provide nesting sites for garden birds, as well as shade for your garden. They also keep ground dry and stable.

But, they can become diseased. They become old and as a result, they can become unsafe. They can also grow in awkward places which means they could be causing structural problems your property.

We can remove trees either by dismantling them – the favoured option as the piece-by-piece approach is considered much safer – or we can fell trees, although this is only recommended in areas where property and/or people are not at risk.

Pruning and shaping

Trees, like shrubs, need to be pruned so that they remain in shape. Pruning also gives us chance to check the growth and health of the tree.

Crown reduction

Like other plants and shrubs, when the conditions are right, they can enjoy a growth spurt. The only problem with this is that they can grow so quickly, they grow out of shape. This leads to a tress becoming misshapen which can contribute to it becoming unsafe.

Simply ‘lopping’ off the of the tree is too simplistic an approach. Crown reduction is a much better approach, allowing us to shape the tree and encourage to grow naturally.
