For part of our garden maintenance package at the salvation army in Cambuslang we where tasked with weeding these allotments and bringing them back to a usable state.
Once ready these were given to members of the community, I was amazed when I seen what had been grown at a later date, curly kale, fresh onions and massive butternut squash.

Regular Grass Cutting
With autumn coming we see more and more wet weather however in Britain the grass can keep growing up until December. As long as there is temperature over 6 degrees Celsius and some sun and rain the grass will grow.
Here we are cutting after some heavy rain fall, the mower we use for this is by a french manufacturer and the design is for cutting in wet conditions. Perfect for Scotland.
The beginning of September is also a good time for sewing seed and planting shrubs etc as the soil conditions are still warm enough to allow roots to take and seed germination.
