Hedge Trimming Pasiley
Job 2:
We were called out to visit a large hedge in Paisley today, the customer was looking for the top of their conifer hedge to be trimmed by us and also wanted some advice about why the sides of the hedge where not growing back green and remained brown and burnt looking.
The reason being the last person to cut the hedge had cut it too deeply and removed too much growth damaging it permanently. This is a leylandii hedge and the rule is less is more when trimming and maintaining growth. If you have this hedge at home then take care if attempting to trim it yourself and don’t cut further than the last green shoot of growth as it will not grow back.
This is a great tree to use as a hedge due to its all year round ever green colour and fast growing nature, when cutting its always best to use a sharp hedge cutting blade, this will help achieve a tight trim effect and allow the tree to be trained into a lovely upright finish. Remember you can trim often but never take off too much.
